Research facilities for the study of Brain, learning & education at VU University include • the Brain & Learning Centre Amsterdam • facilities for brain imaging at VU Medical Centre • an academic network of schools for Primary Education, Secondary Education and Vocational Training • laboratories for neuropsychological and biopsychological research at Faculty of Psychology & Education VU. Facilities set up in the past 20 years by Jolles and coworkers include • the Maastricht Memory Clinic (facilities for diagnosis, treatment and research for neuropsychiatric patients and older patients), • the Maastricht Brain & Learning Centre (clinical and research facilities for normal children/adolescence and children/adolescents with attention deficit disorder/ADHD, dyslexia and/or other learning disorders), • the Maastricht Ageing Study (MAAS) which is a large-scale crosssectional and longitudinal programme involving several thousands of healthy individuals followed through the period 1991 through 2010, • the COOS study and related large scale crosssectional-longitudinal studies into neurocognitive development in children/adolescents • Alzheimer Centre Limburg and Maastricht Learning Centre: Service and Knowledge centres which act as interface between Academia and society. |
